Hirepool has today announced new senior management appointments following the integration of Hirepool and Hirequip.
Brian Stephen has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Hirepool, to lead New Zealand’s largest national equipment hire company through its next stage of growth. Mr Stephen’s appointment takes effect immediately.
Mr Stephen, the former Chief Executive Officer of Hirequip, has been Chief Operating Officer of Hirepool during the integration period. He will be succeeded in his role as Chief Operating Officer by Colin Sinton. Mr Sinton, who recently returned to New Zealand, held senior positions with Hirepool for many years before taking up a role in Australia as Chief Operating Officer with Onsite Rental Group, a major Australian equipment hire company.
Ian Lewington, who was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Hirepool in March, will continue in that position. Mr Lewington was previously Chief Financial Officer at Tourism Holdings and prior to that held senior positions with the Fletcher group.
Following the integration, Hirepool is now a nationwide business with the scale and depth to deliver a wide range of hire equipment to its customers. Mr Stephen says the management team has the skills and expertise to further build on the 50 year heritage of the business.
"Hirepool has a high calibre management team and is well positioned to capitalise on the positive growth outlook for the New Zealand economy," he says.
Current Hirepool CEO Mike Foureur, who joined the business in 2013 to lead the integration of Hirepool and Hirequip, will continue to be involved in the business as a non-executive director. Former Hirepool Chief Executive Officer Mark Powell, who announced his intention to leave the business last year, will stay on with the company until August.
