## Features

The MX FUEL Milwaukee breaker delivers a fast, safe, and easy concrete demolition experience. It is the lightest breaker in its class and its technology makes it a tradie’s delight to use.

**Battery and technology**

The battery-powered breaker is part of the MX FUEL equipment system from Milwaukee. This cordless system continues to push the light equipment market by combining optimal performance, run-time and durability required by those in the construction industry. While there are many hazards with power-cord equipment such as emissions, noise, vibration and the frustrations of gas maintenance, this bit of cordless kit looks to minimise these hazards.

**Trolley**

At Hirepool, we provide a lightweight demolition hammer cart with every Milwaukee breaker hire. This trolley features large rubber wheels for easy transportation and manoeuvring across uneven terrain on the job site. The trolley also has a charger storage dock and charger cable hook for transportation. It also has an integrated demolition hammer retention strap and full-metal fastening locations. The MX FUEL™ Breaker Trolley features onboard spring-loaded storage locations for up to four chisels.

**Vibration and user comfort**

Floating body design and anti-vibration body limits excess vibration and provides a comfortable grip while in use

Fast Demolition Rate with 68J of Hitting Force

Only 4.9m/s² Vibration Enables All Day Use and Increased User Comfort

With 50 ft/lbs of Impact Energy and 4.9M/s2 measured vibration, the new MX FUEL™ Breaker is up to 30% harder hitting and generates 70% lower vibration than its corded counterparts. At 63.9 lbs,

**Soft start**

Summary. As you can see, hard starters and soft starters are two completely different concepts. Hard starts aim to make the inrush of current as large as possible while the soft start lowers the inrush of current as much as possible.

A soft starter helps to limit transient voltages, while also protecting against sudden surges of power that accompany both normal operation, and power outages. Reduce risk to personnel and limit personal harm. Major equipment can be very dangerous, and there's always a risk involved with using it.

**Power**

Capable of breaking 2 tons per charge, the MX FUEL™ Breaker delivers the run-time to complete demanding applications such as breaking a trench that is 40’ long, 12” wide, and 6” deep.

With 50 ft/lbs of Impact Energy and 4.9M/s2 measured vibration, the new MX FUEL™ Breaker is up to 30% harder hitting and generates 70% lower vibration than its corded counterparts.

## Safety considerations when breaking concrete

If not handled and operated safely, a concrete breaker or drill can be a dangerous piece of gear. Before picking up a Milwaukee concrete breaker, it’s essential to consider potential risks and go over the pre-start safety checks.

### Wear the correct safety gear

Before you start using a Milwaukee concreter breaker, make sure you are wearing the appropriate PPE including:

- Hard boots
- [Gloves](https://www.hirepool.co.nz/products/equipment/consumables/safety-gloves.md)
- [Ear protection](https://www.hirepool.co.nz/products/equipment/consumables/safety-ear-wear.md)
- [Safety glasses](https://www.hirepool.co.nz/products/equipment/consumables/safety-glasses.md)
- [Head protection](https://www.hirepool.co.nz/products/equipment/safety/safety-gear/692f-head-protection.md)

Ensuring you have the correct safety gear will help to prevent injury.

### Consider the effects of vibration

With concrete breakers, [exposure to vibration](https://www.worksafe.govt.nz/topic-and-industry/vibration/#:~:text=Repeated%20exposure%20to%20vibration%20from,blood%20vessels%2C%20nerves%20and%20joints.) comes with the territory. Long-term exposure to vibration can, unfortunately, lead to health problems. Thankfully, Milwaukee's [active vibration reduction technology](https://www.milwaukeetool.co.nz/mx-fuel/equipment/MXFDH2528H-0.html) is a feature across the Milwaukee range. This tech can help minimise exposure to tool vibration by up to two-thirds compared to most competitor tools.

### Be mindful of dust

Another par for the course with using a concrete breaker is the [effects of dust](https://www.worksafe.govt.nz/topic-and-industry/dust/), particularly [silica dust](https://www.worksafe.govt.nz/topic-and-industry/dust/silica-dust-in-the-workplace/). While your mouth and nose filter out more significant dust bits, fine silica dust can get into your airways. Over time, silica dust can cause health issues, including [silicosis](https://www.healthnavigator.org.nz/health-a-z/s/silicosis/).

Thankfully, you can meet dust-related regulations using the [TE DRS-B dust removal system](https://www.hilti.co.nz/content/hilti/A2/NZ/en/products/homepage-and-new-products/heavy-duty-tools/world-of-breakers/drs-for-breakers.html) with your Milwaukee concrete breaker. Using the TE DRS-B attachment and a [Milwaukee vacuum](https://www.hirepool.co.nz/products/equipment/building-renovation/accessories/141a-vacuum-cleaner-medium-wet-dry.md) can keep dust to a minimum on-site. It’s also vital to wear the correct PPE to reduce health risks from dust.

### Other ways to stay safe while using a Milwaukee concrete breaker

Now that you are ready to operate the machinery, safety must remain top of mind. Other ways to keep safe while operating a Milwaukee concrete breaker include:

- Keep an eye out for hazards around you like drops, trip hazards, sharp objects, or falling objects
- Only place pressure on the tool so that the chisel is pressed against the surface and not bouncing
- Don’t lean on or force the Milwaukee concrete breaker as it could break the insert
- You can reduce chiseling power to approximately 70% by pressing the power level selector switch by the handle and service lights panel
- If the service indicator light is red it means there’s a fault with the tool. In this instance, contact your local Hirepool branch for further instructions

In general, if something doesn’t look or feel right with your Milwaukee concrete breaker or drill, it’s safest to contact Hirepool.

**Top tip:** If you’re using a Milwaukee concrete breaker or drill with a generator, [choose a generator](https://www.hirepool.co.nz/products/equipment/generators-power-distribution.md) that’s double your tool’s wattage output. This will make sure the power supplied to your concrete breaker is sufficient.
