New Zealand Contractors Federation (NZCF)

The New Zealand Contractors' Federation (NZCF) is the national organisation representing the civil construction and general contracting industry.

Established in 1944, the aim of the New Zealand Contractors Federation (NZCF) is to build an environment where members can grow and prosper through advocacy, and lobbying of central and local government, consult on legal and regulatory issues, industry profile-raising, and providing the tools with ongoing support for NZCF members to grow their businesses.

Federation members are engaged in providing a wide range of services on a contract basis, for both public and private sector customers.

Hirepool and the NZCF

As well as advocacy and lobbying of central and local government, the NZCF alongside Hirepool host the Hirepool Construction Awards at the annual NZCF Conference.  The awards are designed to recognise excellence in the New Zealand Construction Industry, and are typified by the presentation of the Toki Poutangata to the Category Winners.  “The Toki, an adze of chiefly rank was chosen as the award as it symbolised the leadership, technical competence, endurance, and tenacity required of the companies who complete the astounding feats of civil and commercial construction excellence”, says Powell.
